Target coming to Willowbrook

Target is coming to Willowbrook Shopping Centre.

Target Corportation unveiled its Canadian expansion plans on Thursday, and the Langley shopping centre is one of 15 locations in B.C. which will see Zellers turned into a Target.

“We are thrilled to share these first details about our planned entry into Canada,” said Tony Fisher, president of Target Canada, in a press release. “We are excited that these initial store sites ensure Target will be represented throughout the country.”

Target takes over from Zellers in early 2013.

In the meantime, the Zellers locations will continue to operate. Six to nine months prior to their opening as Target locations, the majority of the stores will be closed for significant remodeling.

On average, about $10 million will be invested in remodeling each location.
