Business and professional women's organization adds Langley chapter
The International Federation of Business and Professional Women (BPW International) is coming to Langley.
Women who live in Langley, as well as those who do business or work in the community are invited to attend the opening night dinner and reception on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
The guest speaker for the evening will be Mary Reeves.
Reeves served as Abbotsford’s first female Mayor in 2005 and now works as Executive Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Langley.
Come listen to her fascinating stories of life as a woman in politics and about her passion for developing healthier communities and investing in the lives of future generations.
The International Federation of Business and Professional Women (BPW International) was founded in 1930 and has become one of the most influential international networks of business and professional women with affiliates in 95 countries in five continents.
BPW has consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and participatory status with the Council of Europe.
Its members include influential women leaders, entrepreneurs, business owners, executives, professionals and young career women.
On Oct. 9, Langley will join the ranks of this vibrant organization. BPW Langley will carry out the international objectives locally helping to develop the professional and leadership potential of women through education, awareness, advocacy and mentoring within a supportive network.
The dinner and reception will be held at Andreas Restaurant in the private meeting room, at 20227 56 Ave. Doors open at 6 p.m. Cost is $20. per person and includes a choice of seven entrees. Vegetarian dishes can be ordered separately.
