PacificSport relocates to Langley

Abbotsford-based sports organization PacificSport Fraser Valley has opened a second office in the Langley Events Centre. The non-profit's central operations will shift to the new Langley address while the Abbotsford office will remain as a satellite location.

PacificSport has been in Abbotsford for nearly 20 years and has enjoyed a larger funding envelope over the past 18 months resulting in a growth in staff and services.

Operating from two locations will ensure a better use of staff and resources within the 11 communities PacificSport serves, noted a press release.

“Our unique partnership with Ten Feet Sports & Entertainment allows us to situate staff and services in the neighbourhoods of our member athletes and coaches who live in the western reaches of our region," stated general manager Linda Palm in the release. "We anticipate an effective sharing of resources to enhance programs and services delivered by both our organizations.”

The provincial network of PacificSport centres works in collaboration with community partners and key stakeholders to support increased sport participation and improved sport performance throughout B.C. As regional resource centres for sport, PacificSport is committed to leading the alignment of the Canadian Sport for Life movement through education and program delivery.

Through a partnership with the City of Abbotsford, PacificSport’s satellite operations in Abbotsford will ensure the ongoing support to communities extending east to Hope.
