Multicultural gala honours diversity
Tickets are still available for the Langley International Festival Society’s second annual multicultural gala dinner and awards ceremony.
The evening recognizes individuals and organizations or businesses which have made outstanding contributions to Langley’s growing diversity through their work, recreation, association and/or business.
The awards are presented in three categories: ambassador of diversity (individuals); spirit of diversity (individuals/groups) and innovative projects (individuals/groups).
Last year, Sarwan Singh Randhawa, Community Librarian, Muriel Arnason Library, was awarded Ambassador of Diversity, Sandy Shih from Langley Community Services Society won Spirit of Cultural Diversity, and Innovative Projects award was given to Campion Debate Club (RE Mountain).
The ceremony is Jan. 28 at 6 p.m. at the Sunrise Banquet and Conference Centre.
