Vanishing bees probed
Honeybees have been mysteriously disappearing all over the world. Known as Colony Collapse Disorder, this phenomenon has brought beekeepers to a crisis in an industry responsible for producing fruit and vegetables.
In the movie Vanishing of the Bees follows beekeepers, David Hackenberg and Dave Mandes are shown as they strive to keep their bees healthy, and fulfill pollination contracts across the US.
Vanishing of the Bees is the next feature of Green Wednesdays and will be shown on Feb. 8 in room 1010 at the Langley campus of Kwantlen University.
Green Wednesday organizers are hoping to have John Gibeau from the Bee Centre lead the discussion.
Green Wednesdays are presented by the Green Ideas Network and Kwantlen Polytechnic's School of Horticulture (Langley campus).
The doors open at 6:30 p.m,. with the show starting at 7 p.m.
Please RSVP to Gary Jones at gary.jones@kwantlen.ca or call 604-599-3311.
