Be part of the night watch
A dazzling display of ‘shooting stars’ awaits visitors to Aldergrove Regional Park for the annual Perseid meteor shower, which will be visible on Saturday, Aug. 11 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Listen to stories and gaze at the stars. Telescopes are provided by volunteers with the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada. Although the Perseid meteor shower will peak on Aug. 12, there should be great viewing on the nights leading up to this date.
Overnight campers must arrive between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. to set up camp. Bring a sleeping bag, an air mattress or blanket.
This program is weather dependent. Event will be cancelled by 4 p.m. if there is complete cloud cover. Call 604 530-4983 on day of event to confirm if it will go as scheduled.
The drop-in free is $2 per person. To find out about other Metro Vancouver programs, visit the events calendar at:www.metrovancouver.org.
