Ride Into History for Gateway of Hope happens July 25, 26
Aldergrove Financial Group, Envision Financial, and Prospera Credit Union have partnered for the third time to present the Ride into History two-day event, featuring a cruise and concert on Friday, July 25 and the scenic ride and meals on Saturday, July 26.
This fun, family event is a fundraiser for the Salvation Army Gateway of Hope in Langley.
All the money raised will directly benefit and fund the vital community services provided at Gateway that work toward bettering people’s futures.
“Friday evening’s Cruise ‘n’ Concert will kick off the weekend at the Fort Langley National Historic Site’s orchard with a concert featuring the Valley’s own Randy ‘Elvis’ Friskie and a Cruise-In for everyone to enjoy,” said Troy Gaglardi, chair of the Ride into History committee.
The event organizers encourage car and bike enthusiasts alike to bring out their classics or showpieces. Donations will be accepted on site.
“It’s important to recognize why we are doing what we are doing in the Langley community and the impact we are making.
“That is why we will share a special testimony at the Saturday banquet from one of Gateway’s Opportunities Program residents who is finding success in our programs,” said Les McAusland, emergency shelter and opportunities program manager.
Saturday is for all motorcyclists who register for $65 online to enjoy a pancake breakfast, scenic valley ride, lunch, bike rodeo and a prime rib dinner provided by Milestones Langley.
“I really enjoyed the ride last year — great people, and great food,” said Rod Peacock, president of Rev Sales & Marketing,
“I was particularly impressed with the three community credit unions who are working together as major sponsors and supporting such an impactful organization, the Salvation Army Gateway of Hope.
“I have already registered for this year and look forward to an enjoyable weekend.”
Registration fee includes the three meals and a commemorative T-shirt and pin. Those interested are asked to visit www.rideintohistory.ca for more information and to register online.
