Private garden open to public just for the weekend

Erikson’s Daylily Gardens hosted their 16th open house in their private garden on the July 8 and 9 weekend.

The local Aldergrove Daylily Society was be on hand with their fun booth, along with the VanDusen Master Gardeners to answer questions.

Admission was by donation to help support BC Children’s Hospital and local animal shelters.

This year, there was a special new hosta called ‘Miracle Lemony.’

And the new dwarf Asiatic lily ‘Tiny Epic’, the double yellow blooms of Asiatic ‘Fata Morgan’ and the dwarf daylily ‘Siloam Plum Tree’.

Pam and Tom Erikson started the garden in 1987 on a bare acre, and opened their doors to the public in 1990.

There was no shortage of subjects to photograph for Gerry Brownlee of Langley, during the 16th annual open house held at Erikson’s Daylily Garden last weekend. Admission to the garden was by donation, with proceeds to B.C. Children’s hospital and other charities. Dan Ferguson Langley Times
