Feeling the Force in Langley City

A short time ago, in a galaxy close by

When Obi-Kai Kenobi quizzed the young would-be apprentices about different uses of the force, one mentioned the “Force choke” applied by Darth Vader in the Star Warts movies.

That was a little advanced, Kenobi said, and set about teaching the kids how to apply a “Force Push” to move the immovable instead.

With him was a R2 unit that had a bad habit of playing the disco version of the Star Wars film theme, and a helper all in white with familiar-looking hair buns.

The Saturday show was the “Jedi in the Plaza” event, part of the free McBurney Plaza Summer Series presented by the Downtown Langley Business Association and the City of Langley.

In addition to the live show with performers from the Young Wizards Academy, there were Star Wars-themed painting lessons by Zealous Arts.
