Arts in brief
Fit for a King
Birthplace of B.C. Gallery presents Art on Ice (childhood memories of hockey on the pond, street and in the backyard) by King Richard Brodeur. Visit with the artist and former NHL goaltender on March 23 and 24, from noon to 4 p.m. at the gallery, located at 9054 Glover Rd. in Fort Langley. Show continues until April 10. For more information, go to www.bcgallery.ca or call 604-882-1191.
Put your art on the map
Artists are invited to join the fifth annual Langley Art Studio Tour, taking place during the last two weekends in September.
Visitors will follow a printed guide map to art studios and other related stops of interest all over the community. It’s a great way to showcase your art — be it paintings, pottery, sculpture, jewelry, glass, fabric or other media—as long as it’s your own original work.
Entry deadline is June 15.
Don’t have a studio? Apply anyway.
Many artists are willing to share their studio space, plus there are several “stops of interest” where artists can display their work. Applications from artists who live outside Langley are encouraged and will be accepted as space permits.
Cost is $100 per studio (solo artist) or $50 per artist (sharing) For information and registration forms visit www.langleyartstudiotour.ca or email email@example.com.
