ROME (Reuters) - Oscar-winning American actress Meryl Streep will receive a lifetime achievement award at this year's Rome film festival, organizers said on Friday.

The festival, which is in its fourth edition and runs from October 15-23, has previously honored actors Al Pacino, Sophia Loren and Sean Connery with the award.

The Czech-American director Milos Forman has been appointed president of the festival jury, organizers said.
