Langley home invasion

19700_block_56_ave.jpg

Two armed men forced their way into a building manager's suite early Thursday morning in Langley.

It happened around 4:20 a.m. in the 19700 block of 56 Avenue.

The victim told police he answered a knock on his door believing it was a tenant with an issue in their residence.

When he did not recognize the two males, he tried unsuccessfully to close the door.

One of the suspects pointed a gun and ordered the manager to open the door.

The second suspect was armed with a knife.

Both males demanded money as they entered the residence.

When the manager told them he had no money, he was struck in the head with the firearm.

The suspects then demanded jewelry and a small amount was provided to them before they fled on foot running east through a rear alley.

A police dog was called in and came across a possible witness, a woman, during the search.

Langley RCMP are asking her to contact them at 604-532-3200.

Both suspects are Caucasian, around 30, 5'9" and 150 lbs. wearing all black.

Anyone else with information that might assist should call Langley RCMP or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or text BCTIP and your message to CRIMES (274637).
