Fired up to fight cancer
A team of Langley Township firefighters has already raised more than $13,000 for the Ride to Conquer Cancer, and on Saturday they will hope to increase that at a barbecue.
Andy Schildhorn, Dave Backie, Sean Lakeman, Brent Charters and Chris Lane are helping to celebrate their achievement by inviting the public to the Firehall 2 in Fort Langley on Saturday, June 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Schildhorn said the event is a kickoff for the riders who have all worked hard to raise the money for the B.C. Cancer Foundation.
There will also be face painting and a hose-spraying contest.
