Controversial rezoning hearing on Monday

A rezoning application for property which had been set aside for a school in the Routley area goes to a public hearing on Monday.

The land on 70 Avenue, west of 200 Street, is to be swapped by the school district for another school site in the Yorkson neighbourhood, on 84 Avenue west of 208 Street. The land swap would see townhouses built on the 70 Avenue site. The proposal has been controversial with residents in the area.

The public hearing is set for 7 p.m. at the Township council chambers, 203 Street and 65 Avenue.
