Langley Environmental Heroes sought

Nominations are now open for the 2012 Langley Environmental Hero Awards. Nominations should be submitted by Tuesday,  May 1.

This is the sixth time that the Langley Environmental Hero awards will be presented. The last awards were presented in 2010, when Doug McFee of the Salmon River Enhancement Society and Bruce Van Garderen of Maples Discovery Gardens received the awards.

The awards were started by MP Mark Warawa in 2006. He  served for several  years as parliamentary secretary to the minister of  the environment. He continues to be involved in the program.

Nominations from members of the public are an opportunity to acknowledge the hard-working members of the community who strive to make Langley a healthier, more vibrant place to live.

Nominations are available for the the following categories:

- individual;

- youth (under 25 years);

- business or community organization.
