Funeral service announced for Langley teacher and historian
Funeral arrangements for longtime Langley teacher and principal Norm Sherritt have been announced.
Mr. Sherritt died on Aug. 16, at the age of 92.
He was renowned in Langley for his 40 years as a teacher and principal at Fort Langley Elementary, Langley Secondary and Aldergrove Secondary.
He also was well-renowned for his knowledge of Langley’s early days, and was a much-consulted source for local historians.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 7 at Newlands Golf and Country Club, 20125 48 Avenue, from 2 to 4 p.m.
Donations in his memory can be made to the Langley Scholarship Committee, in the name of the N.A. Sherritt trust, Mrs. M. Pepin, 25323 12 Avenue, Aldergrove, B.C. V4W 3N2. The committee hands out scholarships to high school graduates.
