Violent robber sought by RCMP
A man is wanted by police after grabbing a clerk by the hair and dragging her to the exit, as he was trying to make a getaway at the Rendezvous beer and wine store on July 11.
Around 8:30 p.m. an aboriginal man entered the Rendezvous beer and wine store in the 20600 block of 56 Avenue, grabbed two bottles of vodka and attempted to exit without paying, said Langley RCMP.
Unfortunately for him, the door was locked and requires a release to be triggered by the clerk. The suspect panicked and grabbed the clerk by the hair, dragging her to the door demanding she release the lock.
She explained the need to press a button near the till for its release but instead, pressed the panic alarm.
The manager arrived immediately to respond to the alarm, opened the door to enter, and the suspect used the opportunity to escape, said police.
The suspect is described as aboriginal, approximately 5’10”, wearing blue jeans, a red shirt, blue vest and white shoes.
