Police have closed 16 Avenue from 240 Street to 248 Street due to a crash and really icy conditions, said the Township of Langley this morning.

A dump truck slipped off the road and into a ditch and his trailer fell into the ditch on the opposite side of the road, said Langley RCMP.

It's not known when that portion of 16 Avenue will be re-opened because it will be difficult given the icy conditions.

Fraser Highway is reported to be icy east of 222 Street.

Road conditions are pretty good around the city hub after this year's first real dumping of snow. A salting truck was involved in a crash earlier this morning on Highway One at 200 Street , according to traffic reports. Snow is still falling heavily.

Only private schools are closed today in Langley.
