City of Langley paving project not done yet

Work delaying traffic at Douglas Crescent and 204 Street set to finish May 24

Langley drivers frustrated with delays caused by roadwork at the intersection of Douglas Crescent and 204 Street will have to be patient for at least three more weeks.

Rick Bomhof, the City’s director of engineering and environment, said the installation of sensors under the roadway, pouring of new concrete sidewalks and repaving should be complete by May 24.

He said that traffic through the intersection will be delayed and  controlled by crews intermittently between now the project’s completion.

The project is part of a larger road improvement plan with a total budget of $875,000.

Crews also completed the installation of a new water line replacement on Tuesday, May 3, ending temporary single-lane flow on that section of road.
