A 46-year-old Surrey man was issued a ticket for failing to remain at the scene where a pedestrian was struck at 200 St. and 72 Ave. on Friday, March 17.

Driver struck man in crosswalk and kept driving. A witness followed him and called police.

A 46-year-old Surrey man was issued a ticket for failing to remain at the scene after hitting a pedestrian with his car at the intersection of 200 Street and 72 Avenue on Friday, March 17.

Around 7:45 p.m., the hit-and-run driver was making a right onto 200 Street from 72 Avenue when he struck a 68-year-old Langley man walking in the crosswalk, said police.

A witness to the crash followed the driver to a nearby parking lot and called police. The man was arrested there and issued the ticket.

According to Langley RCMP, the pedestrian suffered bumps and bruises but was otherwise OK.
