A wallaby’s Langley walkabout has come to an end.
Langley RCMP said the missing animal was found, unharmed, around 8:30 Saturday morning about half a mile from home and returned to the owner.
Police had been asking residents to be on the lookout for a ‘very friendly’ wallaby, that had been on the loose since Thursday morning after escaping from its enclosure in the Murrayville area.
The three-foot-tall, six-year-old wallaby went missing from its home in the 222 Street and 56 Avenue area around 7:20 a.m.
Two separate sightings of the Australian marsupial were called in to police less than an hour later in the area of 51 Avenue and 224 Street. The callers said they had seen a kangaroo.
RCDMP confirmed that, with the proper paperwork, it is legal to own a wallaby in B.C.
