Edward Allen Pratt
February 20, 1936 – October 3, 2017
Edward Allen Pratt passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the Langley Memorial Hospital at the age of 81 years old. Ed was born and raised in beautiful Birtle, Manitoba.
Ed graduated from the University of Manitoba, B.Sc in Engineering and was accepted into the Manitoba Association Professional Engineers in 1963.
Edward also became a member the Association of Professional Engineers in the provinces of Ontario and British Columbia.
Ed worked and lived in Langley, Vancouver, Prince Rupert, Toronto, Weyburn and Winnipeg.
He proudly worked on many projects throughout BC during his close to 35-year career with most of those years working with Dayton and Knight Ltd, Consulting Engineers.
Edward enjoyed curling, golfing, sailing, photography and bridge. In 1967, he married Margaret Farquhar. United in their love of nature and animals, Margaret and Ed settled in Langley on a lovely hobby farm on which they raised pot-bellied pigs, miniature horses, geese, chickens, a goat, and many dogs.
Ed was predeceased by his parents John and Kathleen Pratt, his sister Eileen, and brothers, Brian, Dennis, David and wife Margaret.
He will be missed by his friends, and his 19 nieces and nephews, brothers in-law Harry Baedak, and Ron Farquahar (Jan) and sister in-law June Pratt.
His family extend special thanks to the staff at the Avalon Gardens, and to the Langley Memorial Hospital.
The family will be holding a Memorial gathering to be held on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017 from 2 – 6 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Langley Memorial Hospital and the Langley Animal Protection Society.
