Isabelle Doreen Kier

(nee Mufford)

March 3, 1930 – July 28, 2017


After a short courageous battle with cancer, Doreen passed away peacefully in Chilliwack at the age of 87, surrounded by her loving family.

Doreen is survived by her daughter Wendy Ogden (Ian), son Doug (Elspeth), son-in-law Don Hansen (Rena), sister Thelma Werschke, sister-in-law Agnes Bacon, grandchildren Chris (Sheryl), Scott (Olivia), Graham, Darren (Ashley), Melissa (Justin), Dylan (Clara), Gwynyth (Ed), Geoffrey, Patricia and Alexandra; 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, a large extended family and many friends.

Doreen was predeceased by her husband Don, youngest daughter Karen and parents Len and Molly Mufford. Doreen was born in Royal Columbian Hospital and spent the majority of her life in Langley. She retired at age 60 and moved with husband Don to the Sunshine Coast, where she lived for 27 years. She was a member of the Quilters Guild and United Church Women at St. John’s in Davis Bay and a member of the United Church of Canada for over 60 years.

Doreen was a joyful, optimistic person with a caring, giving spirit and a ready smile. She truly made the most of every day and always tried to look for the best in people. Family and friends were a very important part of Doreen’s life. She was deeply loved and will be sadly missed!

A Celebration of Doreen’s Life will be held Sat. August 12, 2017 at St. John’s United Church in Davis Bay, at 1:30pm.
