Marjorie THOM

Thom, Marjorie IRMA, December 25, 1933 – March 23, 2009. Irma passed away suddenly at Langley Memorial Hospital on Monday. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, George, brother Ken Evans, children; Jeff (Shari), Lawrie (Sherry), & Nancy McManus (Richard). Irma will be greatly missed by her grandchildren; Shelley, Christopher, Cameron and John McManus, Shayla and AJ Thom. She also leaves her longtime friend Rlee Gilson of Narcisse, MB. Born in Winnipeg, Irma lived in Burnaby from 1966 until she moved to Langley in 1996. She was lifetime member of the Anglican Church of Canada where she was active in Sunday School. She was in Girl Guides for many years as a member, a leader and a commissioner. Irma was a member of the I.O.D.E. in Burnaby and spent many years volunteering in her neighbourhood elementary schools. In lieu of flowers donations in Irma’s name can be made to Wix-Brown Elementary library or the D.W. Poppy Secondary School music program, both in Langley. A celebration of Irma’s life will be held Monday, March 30 at 2:30pm at Christ the Redeemer Church, 16613 57A (Bell Rd) Cloverdale.
