Celebrate a Life at new location

Editor: Celebrate a Life is an event that many hospice societies throughout the province hold in December, in order to reach out to people and help them deal with the emotions that surface around the holidays, in connection with loved ones who have died.

Each year, more than 450 people honour the memory of a loved one by writing their name on a memorial ornament, placing it on our tree and writing a special message in a memorial book. For over 15 years, Willowbrook Shopping Centre has provided space for Langley Hospice’s Celebrate a Life, but it is unable to do so this year due to renovations.

To carry on this important tradition, Langley Hospice would like to invite the community to drop by our hospice offices located at 20088 40A Ave. from Dec. 3 to 14, to celebrate the life of a loved one. Volunteers and staff will be available to lend a listening ear for those who wish to honour a loved.

We are also offering our annual Journeying Through the Holidays on Wednesday, Dec. 5 from 7 to 8 p.m. at our office. This is an evening of support and information on helping yourself and others through grief, especially during the holidays. Individuals, families, children and teens are welcome.

Registration is required for this memorial event. Please phone 604-530-1115.

Sandra Castle, executive director,

Langley Hospice Society
