Lottery suggested

Editor: I disagree with raising the tolls on bridges and increasing fuel taxes. This will only add more hardship to the average person.

The thought that raising gas taxes is better for the environment because it gets people out of the cars isn’t exactly true. Some people have to drive to work, as transit is not convenient for them. Some, such as truckers, have to drive for a living.

I believe that generating additional income for TransLink can be done with a lottery.

The Translink Lottery could be a weekly lottery and the prizes would depend on the correct numbers on the ticket, as with other regular lotteries. The revenue generated would all go to TransLink and help pay for TransLink projects.

The lottery can be operated by the BC Lottery Corporation.

Rick Kormendy,

Langley
