Remember the 19 per centers

Editor: I heard someone on the radio Monday morning, talking about the teachers’ request for a 15 per cent increase to their contract, saying “Who gets a 15 per cent increase in this economic climate?”

My immediate response? Langley Township councillors do, except that they are getting a 19 per cent increase, and 12.6 per cent for the new mayor. If I don’t laugh, I’ll cry.

Please Langley, remember this two and one-half years from now, when you get to vote again.

Connie Blundy,

Fort Langley
