Hospital support groups' names mixed up

Editor: I liked your souvenir program for the Langley Good Times Cruise-In. It was very well done.

However, as a member and past president of the Langley Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, I must point out a mistake. The Cruise-In supports the auxiliary, not the Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation. The Times printed the foundation logo instead of the auxiliary logo in the supplement. It’s no wonder the public think we are one and the same.

The auxiliary is run by volunteers, none of whom get paid. The only payment made is to the accounting firm of Malish and Clark. They keep Revenue Canada happy and compliant.

The auxiliary has a limited budget to spend on promotion. All the dollars we raise go to the hospital, not to wages.

Yes, we are a registered not-for-profit charity. The foundation does great work, but unfairly receives  publicity that should go to the auxiliary.
