It's time to replace Rich Coleman as MLA

Editor: I have been a resident of Langley Township for 10 years. I am definitely not a pioneer, but it’s a respectable term of residency and has allowed me to have formed an opinion about how politicians are not doing their jobs for us.

Rich Coleman needs to be replaced. He has had 17 years to get it right and has not done so. I believe he has no interest in helping the citizens of Langley Township getting ahead and actually joining the rest of Greater Vancouver.

How can we? We don’t have any way of getting there. This transit set-up is great for the entire GVRD. We pay millions of dollars to support the system, and yet have no linking system available to us. What a joke.

Does anyone hear Coleman fighting for us? No you don’t, not a word. He is in a position to help, but does nothing. I used to be Liberal, but no more. I would not vote NDP either as I have no faith they will do any better for us.

So this time around, I am voting Conservative. I’m voting for Rick Manuel.  Citizens of Langley Township, do yourself a favour and look into this candidate. It is a very respectable choice to make.

He’s not been in politics for long, but I believe he has many good ideas for our community and will do his best to get the commuter rail system back on track for us. Check out his web site at www.rickmanuel.com.

We need a movement here folks. We need our citizens to start caring and do something. We need voters to get out there and really put some strength and commitment into our community.

While I’m on the soapbox, please talk to young people who are eligible to vote. They need to get involved too. Their futures are at stake. If it is important to you, it will be important to them. I love where I live. Let’s make a difference we can all be proud of.

Roberta Lee,

Langley
