A lack of common sense?

Editor: Re: Justice Joel Grove’s reason for overturning the Coulter Berry project in Fort Langley (The Times, Dec. 16 ). He is basically saying any Grade 12 student could have seen that the Township was breaking its own zoning bylaw by allowing the project to proceed as planned.

Per Justice Grove, if “common sense” was the main requirement needed to interpret the zoning bylaw, then do the Township’s lawyers not possess this pre-requisite?
