Bobcats, Gators advance to round of 16

Two Langley Grade 8 girls' basketball teams advanced to the round of 16, while another pair saw their season end on Tuesday.
Playing at the Fraser Valley regional championships, the Brookswood Bobcats, seeded third out of the 32 teams, defeated the Sands Scorpions 77-30. They next face the Fraser Heights Firehawks on Thursday (Feb. 24) to see which team advances to the championship round this weekend at Walnut Grove Secondary.
Walnut Grove also stayed alive thanks to a 53-31 win over the Lord Tweedsmuir Panthers.
They face Surrey's Khalsa School.
The Langley Christian Lightning lost 40-13 to Maple Ridge and H.D. Stafford lost 62-7 to Holy Cross.
