Jacob Doerksen has added one more honour to his sparkling resume.

On Thursday, the Trinity Western Spartans fifth-year forward was named a first team all-Canadian.

It is the second time in the past three years he has earned the distinction and also comes on the heels of his fifth straight selection as a Canada West first team all-star.

Doerksen finished the regular season third in conference scoring with 21.6 points per game, second in field goal percentage at 62.1 per cent and eighth in rebounds, at 7.8 per game.

In the five games of the playoffs, where the Spartans went 3-2, those numbers shot up to 27.6 points and 11.2 rebounds per game.

He leads the Spartans into the CIS men's basketball final 8 championships in Halifax as the fifth seed this weekend.

Doerksen sits second in the Spartans all-time scoring records, with 1,736 points in 83 games, trailing former player Adam Friesen, who had 1,859 points in 99 games.

Doerksen's trophy case also includes the 2009 Canada West and CIS player of the year and 2006 Canada West and CIS rookie of the year awards.
