Xtreme fifth

The Langley Xtreme bantam B fastball team placed fifth at a tournament in Tsawwassen last week.

The Xtreme lost to the host squad from South Delta in their playoff opener.

In the team’s other game, they won 6-4 in their last at-bat against the Richmond 95 Islanders, tied the Surrey 95 Storm 3-3, beat the South Delta 95 Invaders 9-2, and in a must-win to qualify for the playoffs, beat the Abbotsford 95 Outlaws 10-7.

Rachel Openshaw, Alyssa Brown and Cassidy Petersen led the pitching staff, while Devan Cosens belted two home runs to pace the offence.

The ‘95 Xtreme consists of Rachel Openshaw, Alyssa Brown, Cassidy Petersen, Devan Cosens, Jessie Leslie. Amber Gudmundson, Courtney Thorne, Robyn Pederson, Kianna Komorowski, Katie Murray, Teal Delaney-Hird, Tannis Yakabuski and Sarah Tingren.
