Giving it a Tri
More than 200 competitors enjoyed the beautiful weather on Sunday during the seventh annual Langley City Tri-it Triathlon.
The race featured 92 adults, 10 teams (a different person did each leg of the race) and 95 kids.
The adult portion of the race featured a 400m swim, 21-km bike ride and 5-km run. The kids’ races varied in length depending on the age group.
And once again, the proceeds from the race went to the B.C. Professional Firefighters Burn Fund.
While numbers are not available for the most recent race, $25,060 has been raised for the fund in the previous six years.
Age group winners included:
Maelle Carmichael (female 5-7); Jamie Hylands (male 5-7); Laikin Greffard (female 8-9); Wyatt Schnare (male 8-9); Chelsea Borrowdale (female 10-11); Evan Durrant (male 10-11); Julia McFarland (female 12-14); Montana Reisler (male 12-14); Amanda Hall (female 15+); Jack McDougall (male 15+).
