Callegari, Sr. Blaze down Angels

Sean Callegari pitched a gem, striking out 10 and allowing just a single baserunner as the Langley Sr. Blaze defeated the Coquitlam Angels 3-0.

The two Pacific International League baseball rivals played at Coquitlam's Mundy Park on Thursday night.

The only Angel to reach base was TJ Watson, who broke up Callegari's perfect game with a double to centre-field.

The Blaze scored all three of their runs in the top of the sixth, with Clayton Howell, Mark Faure and Ryan Saunders picking up one RBI apiece.

The win, Langley's third in a row, improved the Blaze to 7-8.

They are in Everett for a doubleheader on July 17 against the Merchants (11-3).
