Gold, Canadian record for Ellenwood
Georgia Ellenwood not only won the gold medal, but she shattered her own Canadian record in the process.
The 15-year-old, who competes for the Langley Mustangs Track and Field Club, was with Team B.C. at the Canadian Legion national youth track and field championships in Ottawa from Aug. 5-7.
Ellenwood won gold in the heptathlon and she scored 5,043 points in the seven-event two-day competition. She had previously scored 4,950 points in the event while competing for Canada last month at the world youth track and field championships.
