Free seminar for athletes seeking scholarships

A free seminar for athletes looking to secure athletic scholarships will be held on Sunday at the Walnut Grove Community Centre.

“In British Columbia, we are extremely fortunate to be surrounded by many excellent coaches, programs and leagues,” said Bill Green, who runs the seminars.

“Despite this, however, many quality athletes are going unnoticed by college programs that offer scholarships.

“In my experiences as a parent, school administrator and coach it is evident that too many athletes and their families simply do not know how to align their busy lives to go about pursuing the athletic scholarship they have dreamed about for years.”

Green’s son Taylor Green parlayed his athletic talents into the school of his choice and he now plays professional baseball for the Milwaukee Brewers.

Sunday’s seminar is from 11 a.m.to 12:30 p.m. and is free of charge. It is open to both parents and athletes.
