Kodiaks fall to Ice Hawks

The Delta Ice Hawks soared to a 5-1 victory over the Aldergrove Kodiaks in junior B PIJHL hockey action at the Aldergrove Arena on Wednesay.

Ryan Veillet had the lone goal for the Kodiaks, but it did not come until there was 6:35 remaining and Delta already had a 4-0 lead.

Aaron Merrick had a pair of goals, while Cody Smith, Mitchell Pacey and Anthony Brito had the others for the Ice Hawks.

Delta outshot Aldergrove 54-39.

The loss drops Aldergrove to 23-9-1-1 as they hold a slim two-point lead over the Abbotsford Pilots for top spot in the Harold Brittain Conference.

The Kodiaks will look to return to the win column on Feb. 1 when they host the North Delta Devils.
