Four Langley athletes honoured with conference all-stars
A pair of Walnut Grove Secondary graduates, who are key parts of their respective university volleyball teams, were honoured with conference all-star awards.
Aaron Flanagan and Brittany Stewart, who play for the Fraser Valley Cascades men’s and women’s teams, respectively, both earned Pacific Western Athletic Association (PacWest) second team all-star awards.
Flanagan is a fifth-year right-side hitter and Stewart a fourth-year libero.
Fraser Valley's Jon Dvorak, a first-year left-side hitter from Langley Fundamental Secondary, was also named to the conference men’s all-rookie team, while Jill Ratzlaff, an outside hitter for the Columbia Bible College Bearcats, was named to the women’s all-rookie team.
The Fraser Valley women’s team, ranked fourth in the country, have a bye into the PacWest conference semifinals. The Cascades men’s team faces the first-place CBC Bearcats in the first round of the PacWest playoff tournament.
