Langley's Metcalfe golden in the pool

The 2012 TAS BC AAA short course (25m pool) championships took place on Thursday March 1 through Sunday March 4 at the Surrey Sports and Leisure Complex. There were a total of 640 swimmers taking part with 42 teams scoring points. Langley Olympians Swim Club swimmers finished in 8th place overall. The meet was a huge success for the team with many swimmers making finals, winning medals, breaking meet and club records, achieving new qualifying times and new best times.

Gold medal winners;

Hillary Metcalfe (13) in the 800 free, 200 IM, 200 free, 400 IM, 200 breast, 400 free, 100 breast; Chelsea Borrowdale (12) in the 100 breast, 200 breast; Robyn Nakano (12) in the 200 fly and Justin Schramm (14) in the 200 fly.

Silver Medal winners;

Chelsea Borrowdale (12) in the 400 IM; Martha Metcalfe (15) in the 400 IM; Robyn Nakano (12) in the 100 fly; Justin Schramm (14) in the 200 IM; the 11-12 girls 'A' 4 x 50 free relay team (Alysse Franklin, Robyn Nakano, Renae Ledoux and Chelsea Borrowdale); the 11-12 girls 'A' 4 x 50 medley relay team (Robyn Nakano, Chelsea Borrowdale, Gabby Szalkai and Alysse Franklin) and the 11-12 girls 'A' 4 x 100 medley relay team (Robyn Nakano, Chelsea Borrowdale, Gabby Szalkai and Alysse Franklin)
