Hawks season ends in quarter-finals
The Valley West Hawks saw their championship dreams grounded.
The Hawks lost 4-3 and 8-2 over the weekend in their best-of-three B.C. Major Midget Hockey League quarter-final playoff series with the Vancouver Northeast Chiefs.
Both games were on the road.
In game one, Danton Heinen scored twice while Ryan Rensby had the other Hawks goal.
And in game two, the teams were tied at two following 40 minutes of play, but the Chiefs struck for six unanswered goals in the third.
Mitchell Friesen and Daniell Lange scored for the Hawks.
