Jr. Blaze fall short in Abbotsford
The Abbotsford Junior Cardinals struck for four runs in the sixth inning as they rallied to defeat the Langley Junior Blaze.
The Jr. Cardinals edged the first-place Langley U16 baseball team 10-9 at Abbotsford's Delair Park on Wednesday.
Langley scored one run in the top of the seventh and had the tying run on second base but could not bring him home.
Danny Hollins paced the Jr. Blaze attack with four RBIs.
Langley's Liam Kano-McGregor had three RBIs for Abbotsford.
The loss dropped the Jr. Blaze to 8-3, which is still good for first place in the B.C. Junior Premier Baseball League.
Langley has a pair of road doubleheaders this weekend, on Saturday vs. the Vancouver Jr. Cannons (6-5) at Queen's Park, and on Sunday against the Coquitlam Jr. Redlegs (7-3) at Mundy Park.
