Langley athletes shine at provincial track and field championships

In addition to the handful of medals Langley athletes won at the B.C. high school track and field championships June 1-2 at Burnaby's Swangard Stadium, here is a complete list of results for local athletes:

The Walnut Grove relay team of Andrea Robinson, Meg Harradine, Samantha Gillis and Danica Matson were fifth after the preliminaries of the 4x100 relay and sixth after the finals.

Walnut Grove's 'B' team — Shelby Smithson, Dallas Tilley, Keara Graham and Samantha Gillis — in the 4x400 relay was eighth after both both the preliminaries and finals. The school's 'A' team of Meg Harradine, Ashley Windsor, Danica Matson and Andrea Robinson had won silver.

The Walnut Grove relay team of Trevor Whiton, Steven Tyndall, Ethan Wilkinson and Will Tsai were 13th in 4x100 relay preliminaries, while Tsai, Wilkinson, Brandon Drake and Sean Burnett were seventh in the 4x400 relay finals
