Prospera Valley GranFondo in search of volunteers

ValleyGranFondo.jpg

Volunteers are still needed for next month’s 2012 Prospera Valley GranFondo event.

On July 22, more than 1,000 cyclists will find their way to the finish line of the major cycling event with the help of 400 community volunteers.

The race begins and ends at the Fort Langley Historic Site and takes riders through Langley and to Abbotsford and back again.

“Volunteers bring so much to our event,” said Jo-Ann Naughty, volunteer co-ordinator for the Canadian Velo Event Management Society, the presenters of the Prospera Valley GranFondo.

“With their time, energy and commitment, we will succeed in delivering a world class event that our community can be proud of for many years to come.”

The GranFondo offers roles for every skill set, including registration, package pick-up, start and finish line hosting, event communications, aid station hosts and course marshals.
