Stewart leads Langley Senior Blaze to victory
It was a great first impression for pitcher Devon Stewart.
Making his Langley Senior Blaze season debut, Stewart pitched five innings of shutout ball, allowing just two hits in a 3-0 victory over visiting Burnaby Collegiate on Monday (June 18) at McLeod Park.
The win improved the Langley baseball squad to 7-1 in the Pacific International League standings.
Aaron Dick and Dillon Reynolds both pitched one inning in relief.
Scott Webster drove in two runs with a double while Ricky Alvarez had an RBI single.
Lead-off hitter Mike Krische got on base with a pair of walks, and scored both times.
The Blaze are in Burnaby on June 19 for a rematch before hosting the Coquitlam Angels on June 20 at McLeod Park.
