A four-run second inning helped lead the Langley Senior Blaze to a 5-3 victory over Burnaby Collegiate Bulldogs.

The two men's baseball teams hit the ball diamond on June 19 in Burnaby and the victory improved Langley to 7-1, good for top spot in the Pacific International League.

And after loading the bases with no outs in the second, Jesse Peters drove home Bob Foerster and Brad Ferraro,

That was followed by two more runs as Jon Mihic scored on a sacrifice fly from Joe Germaine and then Peters scored on a Mike Krische putout.

Germaine also crossed home plate on a fifth inning balk.

Steven Federau picked up the win with six innings of solid work on the mound, striking out six ad allowing just three unearned runs from three Blaze errors.

Blake Stewart picked up the save, nailing down the final two outs.
