’Bellies double up Langley Thunder

The New Westminster Junior Salmonbellies doubled up on the visiting Langley Jr. Thunder by a 12-6 score.

The junior A lacrosse squads met on June 26 at Queen's Park Arena, with the ’Bellies leading from start to finish.

The loss drops Langley to 9-9-0 in the B.C. Junior A Lacrosse League standings with three games to go in the regular season. The Thunder are tied for fourth spot with the top six making the post-season.

New Westminster improved to 12-4-0.

New Westminster led 4-1 after 20 minutes and 9-5 after two periods.

Reegan Comeault led the Thunder with two goals and two assists while Matt Messenger also potted a pair of goals.

James Rahe chipped in with a goal and two helpers and Adam Will had one of each.

Brian Gillis (two assists), Sean Lundstrom (two assists) and Nick Stone (one assist) also found the scoresheet.

The Thunder look to return to the win column on June 28 as they host the Burnaby Junior Lakers (3-13-0) at the Langley Events Centre.
