Langley Blaze alum Lotzkar tabbed for MLB Futures Game
Kyle Lotzkar has been tabbed to pitch in Major League Baseball's All-Star Futures Game as part of the league's all-star festivities this weekend in Kansas City.
Lotzkar will pitch for the World Team against the U.S. team on Sunday (July 8).
The 14th annual game features MLB's top prospects.
The Tsawwassen pitcher, who was a supplemental first round (53rd overall) draft pick of the Cincinnati Reds, was part of the Langley Blaze Premier baseball program.
He is currently at the Double-A level with the Pensacola Blue Wahoos of the Southern League. The right-hander is 4-3 with a 4.21 earned run average. He also has 64 strikeouts in 51.1 innings.
The 22-year-old has pitched internationally as well, helping Canada win gold at the Pan American Games last year, as well as bronze at the 2011 Baseball World Cup.
