Golden time for Roman in England
It was a happy Canada Day for Langley’s Lisa Roman and teammates.
Roman helped the Canadian development 8 crew win gold at the prestigious Henley Royal Regatta in England on July 1.
The Canadian side, which rows out of the Western Rowing Club, won by two lengths over Germany’s Dortmund Rowing Center to capture the Remenhan Challenge Cup.
Roman, who turns 23 in September, just completed her senior season with the Washington State Cougars rowing team this past year.
She also helped Canada win gold last summer at the U23 world championships.
