Langley hosting celebration for Fraser Valley Olympic athletes
Lift-Off to London Community Celebrations will be held across the country on Saturday (July 7) including in Langley at Willoughby Community Park.
The Langley event runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is a chance for the public to show their love of sport and cheer on the Fraser Valley athletes who will be going for gold at the Summer Olympic Games and Paralympic Games in London.
It is a free family event.
The event is being organized by Pacific Sport Fraser Valley and several of the local Olympians are confirmed to be in attendance.
This includes Dorothy Ludwig (air pistol), Braedon Dolfo (track), Eleonore Elstone (equestrian), Nathan DeWitt (wheelchair racing) and Lauren Barwick (Paraequestrian).
Some of Saturday’s festivities include sport demonstrations, guest speakers, autographs, prizes and more.
